Following the merger of Santa Monica, California\u2019s Gooding and Company with Christie\u2019s, the new and logically named Gooding Christie’s starts 2026 off with a bang as the official auction house of Salon R\u00e9tromobile. This year marks the 50th<\/sup> edition of this world-renowned automotive event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As expected, the Gooding Christie\u2019s Paris Auction will feature collector cars from Ferrari, Bugatti, and Talbot-Lago, early racing legends, electrifying modern supercars, and virtually every automotive genre in between. As Thursday\u2019s auction rapidly approaches, here is a small selection of featured consignments to savor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rallying is one of the toughest motorsports arenas, and car enthusiasts have enjoyed the benefits of FIA-mandated production requirements, which have qualified these high-specification cars. Gooding has assembled an exciting assemblage, including these rowdy racing icons – two of a foursome including a 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale and a 1995 Ford Escort RS Cosworth – for its Retromobile auction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, classic Ferrari icons are very well represented. From the storied marque’s glorious V-12 heritage are a sexy 1958 250 GT LWB California Spider, 1960 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, and an ultra-exclusive 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series I Coupe Aerodynamico<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wide array of perennially desirable postwar Grand Touring machines includes a 1960 Aston Martin DB4 Series II, the marque’s “Gentlemen’s Express,” and a “1 of 300” 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III – the final iteration of this highly successful Ferrari model line. Other fabulous European GT cars include a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC<\/a>, renowned for its fabulous driving experience and svelte Pininfarina-designed body. A 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso<\/a> exemplifies what many experts consider the most beautifully styled of all “Enzo-era” V-12 Ferrari road models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
