Back in August we told you about the hour we spent with automotive artist Lyn Hiner at Pebble Beach<\/a>, and about the fancy wireless microphone that quit thirty seconds in. The conversation that followed was better for it, in our humble opinion, but there was no audio recording to share. This week, our friends at Gran Touring Motorsports<\/a> kindly offered to fill that gap. Their Break\/Fix interview with Lyn covers her story in audio form: her education at Pratt Institute, a decade at PRI, the accident that changed how she paints, and why palette knives suit a memory better than a photograph ever does.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a pleasure and an honor to meet and interview Californian automotive artist, Lyn Hiner, at Concours Village at Pebble Beach during this past Monterey Car Week. As a veteran writer, I’m most comfortable with conversation and then writing about my experiences. Our friends at Gran Touring Motorsports<\/a>, however, put out an outstanding podcast, and when they were talking with Lyn in 2024, their microphones were working.
