A private Mariposa, California collection featuring classic cars, toys, tools, farm equipment, and more is scheduled to go under the gavel on Sunday, June 14, through Hewlett’s Auction. Early photos appear to show prewar Studebakers, an Avanti II Convertible, and what appears to be a very early air-cooled Franklin.
Thanks to the latest Old Cars Weekly newsletter that landed in our email inbox this morning, we learned of a wonderful private collection in Mariposa, California, on Sunday, June 14th. Offered by Hewlett’s Auction on behalf of the Sheldon Ball Estate, the auction lots are only pictured on the auctioneer’s website so far, without a written Lot listing so far. We assume one will be available on auction day.
A cursory look at the online photos shows the cars still in situ in their garages and in very nice condition, as far as we can see. Apologies for any errors, but the vehicles appear to be a small collection of prewar Studebakers, a 1980s Avanti II Convertible, and what looks like a very early and mostly intact air-cooled Franklin. Many more desirable items are on offer.
For further information or bidder arrangements, contact Buster H. Hewlett, Auctioneer at Hewlett’s Auction. Contact them by telephone at (209)-500-8801 and/or email at hewlettsauctions@gmail.com. According to Hewlett’s website, several bidding options include Auction Zip/Live/Absentee/Phone. A 20% Buyer’s Premium applies.
Thanks to Buster Hewlett for his kind cooperation with us in preparation of this online article. Happy bidding!
Here is an abbreviated image gallery. More cars and other collectibles will be on offer. All images courtesy of Hewlett Auctions with thanks.
