Meet Helios, a modern coachbuilt marvel forged entirely by hand by Christopher Rünge, one of the most exciting automotive artisans of our time. This stunning one-off creation is heading to the 40th Anniversary Edition of Concorso Italiano on Saturday, August 16, 2025, and it’s unlike anything else on the green.
“Helios” is the Greek word for “sun.”
In ancient Greek mythology, Helios was the sun god, often depicted driving a chariot across the sky from east to west each day. The name conveys brilliance, power, and celestial presence — making it a fitting name for a hand-built, radiant aluminum creation like Christopher Rünge’s stunning, “one-off” Helios commission.
RÜNGE Cars doesn’t mass-produce. They create rolling sculpture—aluminum-bodied works of art built using traditional coachbuilding techniques on an ultra-light “Superleicht” tubular frame beneath all those unforgettably sinewy curves.
